FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health- Thursday 25th January 2024 or Tuesday 19th March 2024

This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skill to be able to act should a condition be suspected. You will be considered a First Aider for Mental Health and be a point of contact to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

Please not the course builds on the Level 1 award and introduces the First Aid for Mental Health action plan allowing learners to provide their peers with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition. You will be able to signpost to professional help and provide support while the individual is receiving professional assistance

  • Determining what is first aid for mental health
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Explores the effects of drugs and alcohol
  • Introduces the First aid for mental health action plan
  • Examines First Aid for Mental health in the workplace

 

Time:9.00-16.00 (1 hour lunch not included)

Basic Life Support - Tuesday 6th February 2024 

Time 9.00-12.00

Monday 25th March 2024

Time 13.00-16.00pm

This qualification outlines a range of knowldge and practical skills in providing basic life support (BLS) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely. Learners will practise assessing and managing a casualty who needs BLS and the safe use of AED

Emergency Paediatric First Aid - Monday 5th February 2024 or Wednesday 20th March 2024

This is a QA Level 3 RQF accredited 6-hour course which allows the participant the foundation knowledge for paediatric first aid and develops the confidence required to potentially preserve a casualty in an emergency situation. This course supports children. The course includes:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
  • Incident and casualty assessment
  • Management of a breathing unconscious casualty (recovery position)
  • Management of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
  • Management of a seizure
  • Dealing with a choking casualty
  • Shock
  • External bleeding and minor injuries

Time: 9.00-16.00pm (Lunch is not included)

Cost: £50

 

 First Aid at Work 6th December- Monday 12th February-Wednesday 14th February 2024 or Wednesday 13th March-Friday 15th March 2024

This is a QA Level 3 RQF accredited 3-day course which allows the participant the comprehensive knowledge for workplace first aid and develops the confidence required to potentially preserve a casualty in an emergency situation. This course supports and children, including resuscitation for children. The course includes:

  • The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Planning and dealing effectively with an emergency
  • Primary survey
  • Management of a breathing unconscious casualty (recovery position)
  • Management of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Use of an automated external defibrillator
  • External bleeding and shock
  • Minor injuries
  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains
  • Asthma and hyperventilation
  • Eye injuries
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Angina and heart attacks
  • Strokes
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisonous substances
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Secondary survey
  • Major illnesses, including epilepsy and diabetes

Time: 9.00-16.00pm (Lunch is not included)

Paediatric First Aid Tuesday 27th February-Wednesday 29th February 2024

This is a QA level 3 RQF accredited 2-day course, which allows the participant the comprehensive knowledge for paediatric first aid and develops the confidence required to potentially preserve a casualty in an emergency situation. This course supports children. The course includes:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
  • Incident and casualty assessment
  • Management of a breathing unconscious casualty (recovery position)
  • Management of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
  • Management of a seizure
  • Dealing with a choking casualty
  • Shock
  • External bleeding and minor injuries
  • Fractures
  • Head, neck and back injuries
  • Eyes, ears and nose conditions
  • Recognition and management of serious illnesses and conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, meningitis and febrile convulsions)
  • Recognition and management of extremes of heat and cold (hypo and hyperthermia)
  • Electric shock
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisonous substances
  • Allergic reaction and anaphylaxis

Time: 9.00-16.00pm (Lunch is not included)

Emergency First Aid at Work Wednesday 24th January 2024 or Tuesday 24th March 2024

This is a QA Level 2 QCF accredited 6-hour course, allowing the participant the minimum knowledge for workplace first aid and develops tJhe course includes:

  • The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Planning and dealing effectively with an emergency
  • Primary survey
  • Management of a breathing unconscious casualty (recovery position)
  • Management of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Use of an automated external defibrillator
  • External bleeding and shock
  • Minor injuries

Time: 9.00-16.00pm (Lunch is not included)
